The company

Lucanus Roboter und Software GmbH, based in Berlin, was founded in 1994. Since then, we have been selling our own high-performance software products for applications in logistics and for networking IT systems (data logistics).

Our more than 160 customers, some of whom have up to one thousand users, come from all sectors and use our products in several languages. We are very proud of this, because these customers are the best proof of the quality of our products and our lasting reliability.

We therefore do not use cost-intensive advertising and marketing measures and usually acquire new customers exclusively through recommendations from our regular customers.

Lucanus Software GmbH is part of an international partnership of developers. We employ around 25 specialists in 5 countries for the continuous development of our software products.

Gismo is our main product. It was developed for ZDF in Mainz in 2003 after Lucanus won a Europe-wide tender against 150 competitors. Three years after the contract was awarded, Gismo went live as a central information system, first in the broadcasting centre in Mainz and then, step by step, in all external studios from Rio to Tokyo for several hundred users. At ZDF, GISMO connects data from the complex SAP® world with that from various feed systems and also supports paperless inventory across systems. The enormous access speed to hundreds of thousands of data records on film and television equipment of all kinds, purpose-oriented search engines and integrated tools for data consolidation characterise the system there.

As a result of this main task, GISMO is now used across industries for the most diverse processes in the automotive industry as well as in the chemical industry or in public institutions.
